CSA Member Agreement
A few truths:
Joining a CSA brings you closer to all aspects of your food, the people who grow it and the place where it’s grown. It’s an amazing gift to place your trust and your money in our farm.
Farming is full of risk and unpredictable even in the best years. Beginning farmers like myself are inevitably working with less knowledge and fewer resources to manage these risks. This inaugural season of the farm will surely be full of unknowns and failures, which could include variability in the quality and quantity of certain crops. As a CSA member, you are agreeing to shoulder a portion of these risks.
In return for your support, we will do everything in our power to shower you with the best of what we grow, passing along abundance whenever possible. We’ll look forward to getting to know you and keep you involved as the season unfolds. You can expect weekly newsletters with on-farm updates, recipe ideas and other inspiration to keep you connected with what’s happening in the fields.
When you join the Feastland Vegetable & Print CSA, you're agreeing to these terms:
The season is 18 weeks of fresh, organically-grown produce, starting in June and ending in October. Our target start week in 2025 is the week of June 16th, but it could be slightly later depending on weather.
The share price is $40 per week, which equals $720 for the season.
We have over 40 types of vegetables or herbs in our crop plan this year. Each week's CSA box will typically contain 7 items, which should be enough to feed 1-3 people.
When you sign up, you're agreeing to pay for your share and submit your payment on time. You can pay the full amount up front, or reach out to us over email if paying the full amount at sign-up is prohibitive for you. If you’re able to put down a deposit, we are happy to work with you to figure out a payment plan. The payment options are either via Zelle or check by mail.
With the exception of members with food allergies, you will not have the ability to customize your box.
We are waiting on feedback from our members to determine our exact pickup location, but we know we will have at least one pickup option in Portland and one at the farm in Scarborough.
You're responsible for picking up your share every week, or designating someone else to pick up your share for you. (In that case, please make sure they know the pickup location and hours, and also know to only take the box labeled with your name.)
If you're going out of town or will be otherwise unable to pick up your share, please notify us no later than a day before the scheduled pickup so we can plan to donate your share. If you miss a pick-up without notifying us, then the box is automatically forfeited and donated.
